On April 15th 2020 we published a manuscript describing a novel taxonomy for members of the genus Lactobacillus. It describes the split of the genus in 25 new genera including the introduction of 23 new genus names. Since this could be very confusing for academics, professionals and all fermentation enthusiasts, we decided to develop a web tool which could facilitate in the transition to the new taxonomy.
